Heriberto Maximiano Carrazco Figueroa (1946 - 2009)
A very talented artist, Beto was sort of a Renaissance man, mastering music, poetry, philosophy and later painting with the same exquisite inspiration and talent.
A very humble man, he was every day selling vegetables at the Municipal Market and teaching catechism at the Church of the Purisíma Concepción, one of his main sources of inspiration.
Without formal painting education, Beto had the genius to create his own unmistakable style. His painting reflects his melancholy and sense of details : subdued shades of pink, blue and gray dominate his compositions.
His art is well known in Alamos and can be found in many private homes. Tourists from all over the world also bought his paintings

Katherine Rink Callingham
I came to Alamos in 2004 to have time and a place to paint. My greatest love of plein aire painting is being on location; listening to the church choir sing; watching the humming birds pollinate; and seeing who passes by. Painting outdoors requires one to be in one place long enough to notice the small things.
For the past 25 years I was a medical/legal illustrator in Phoenix, Arizona. In Phoenix, I also recently began teaching botanical art at the Desert Botanical Gardens.
Albert Dale
“To seek inspiration from within; ideas, aspirations, revelations and expressions, through the painting process. Musical themes offer opportunities for this to happen and some of these are shown on this site.
My work includes both abstract and semi-realistic representation of the world in and around us - landscapes and seascapes and the energies that make them possible. Some 4,250 paintings have been completed to date.”

Both my watercolor and oil paintings are personal celebrations in color of what I see and experience in the natural world around me. in these mediums I can express my love for my environment and an exploration of color in a way that is not possible in sculpture.

Leila Gillette
Majoring in art for the theatre while in college, Leila painted in oils and water color as a pastime until retirement when she began to paint birds of Alamos in watercolor, India ink and acrylic. Beginning in 2007, Leila painted, informed by the National Audubon Society, pictures of birds whose existence was in danger from loss of habitat. From 187 listed by the Society, Leila selected twenty in the most peril, shown as the following collection.

James Fenimore Wilson
This work is mainly a narrative expression of worldly situations. I have lived in New York City, Alamos, Sonora, Mexico, and now Missouri. I have developed a sense of intimacy in my discovery of Mexico that has been carried forth in my Missouri paintings.
